Postgraduate Training
The College of Psychiatrists of Ireland (CPsychI) is accredited by the Medical Council of Ireland as the responsible body for delivering postgraduate training in psychiatry in Ireland. We aim to provide the highest standard of training for qualified doctors seeking to undertake specialist training in psychiatry at both basic and higher ‘Specialist’ level. We also provide support to Specialist members who guide trainee doctors on their training journey; and to non-training NCHDs through the CPD-SS programme.

Professional Competence
The CPsychI PCS facilitates psychiatrists to record their lifelong learning and demonstrate their commitment to update, develop and enhance knowledge, skills and attitudes throughout their medical career.

Communications & Policy
The Communications & Policy team:
- Manages internal and external communications for the College
- Maintains relationships with external stakeholders in the government, medical & mental health organisations and the media
- Liaises with faculties, committees and College members
- Communicates with the public and provides relevant information on mental illness.
