A training workshop focusing on MHID/CAMHS ID service development. In particular it will address:
• Psychosocial factors leading to referrals and requests for psychotropic medication and contributing to polypharmacy in MHID/CAMHS ID • Best evidence for prescribing psychotropics for children and adults with intellectual disability (and comorbid mental disorder) and evidence for rationalising their use
• HSE service developments taking place to address these factors
• The process of Mental Health Service self-evaluation
• Quality Improvement Science Provisional
