This online seminar will address some of the issues for psychiatrists who, in the course of their primary role, also need to manage the physical health of their patients. Covering endocrinology, antimicrobial pharmacy, management of complexity of frailty in psychiatric patients and cardiology, the webinar will offer a refresher on the physical conditions the psychiatrist could be expected to manage; and when other input or referral is necessary.

SPEAKERS:
Dr Marie-Louise Healy is a Consultant Endocrinologist based in St James’s Hospital, Dublin and a Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Medicine in the School of Medicine, Trinity College Dublin.
Ms Sarah Fagan is the Senior Antimicrobial Pharmacist for Midlands Louth Meath Community Health Organisation. Sarah commenced in this new CHO post in July 2020 (Antimicrobial Pharmacists were appointed in each CHO in 2020/2021). Sarah has a Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy and an MSc in Healthcare Management. Sarah has over 20 year’s pharmacy experience in the hospital and community setting having worked in Louth County Hospital, Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan and Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda as well as community pharmacy settings in Ireland, UK, Australia and New Zealand.
Dr Mary T. Donnelly MRCPI is a Consultant Geriatrician and Physician in the Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore.
Dr Ross Murphy MD, MSc, FRCPI is a Consultant Cardiologist at St James’s Hospital and clinical senior lecturer at Trinity College Dublin since 2006. He trained in Dublin, at St George’s Hospital, London, University College Hospital at Westmoreland Street (formerly the Heart Hospital), London and at Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, USA. He is a graduate of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Dr Murphy’s special interests include cardiac imaging, valve disease and cardiac computed tomography (CT). His research interests include the genetics of cardiomyopathy, newer echo modalities, and the vascular biology of coronary plaque.
