Generation COVID.
How is COVID-19 impacting on young people accessing mental health services?
A presentation on the mental health needs of young people with moderate-severe mental health conditions. There is a lot of awareness of wellbeing, mild-moderate issues in young people and funding allocated to primary care settings, online supports and NGOs in this domain. These services do not support those with more severe issues.
Young people and third level students in particular can struggle to access specialist care in a timely fashion with many falling through the gaps and experiencing difficulties navigating the system. There will be presentations and discussions on these issues with a focus on solutions and the role of the national clinical programmes.
Chaired by Fiona Coyle, this will be a 90 minute webinar. A partnership of the HSE National Clinical Programmes, UCC, UCC Student Union and Mental Health Reform.
