Careers in Psychiatry Events 2019

The College of Psychiatrists of Ireland is pleased to announce that our free Careers in Psychiatry event will take place in University College Cork on Thursday 22nd August 2019. Organised by the Trainee Committee of the College, these events are aimed at Medical Students, Interns and NCHDs, who are interested in learning more about a career in Psychiatry.

 

Events will also take place in Dublin (full day programme on 23.08.19) and Galway (evening date TBC) – see here for further details on all events.

 

Event Details:

The careers day in Cork will offer a day-long programme, and will give participants the opportunity to attend presentations from Consultant and Trainee Psychiatrists, specialising in a variety of sub-specialty areas including General Adult, Child and Adolescent, Old Age and Liaison Psychiatry. Attendees will  also have the chance to visit a local clinical site. and will be provided with practical information about applying for and undertaking the Basic Specialist Training scheme in Psychiatry. In addition, there will be ample opportunity throughout the day to informally meet with current Trainees, Consultants and other Students, Interns and NCHDs.
