Target Audience: Consultant Psychiatrists and Higher Specialist Trainees
Facilitators: Dr Leonard Douglas and Dr Gearoid Fitzgearld
Requirements:
1. All attendees will be required to identify a Balint group which they will co-lead (20 sessions) for the duration of the year. The College can provide assistance for those who have difficulty identifying a group.
2. Attend three training days to discuss and experience Balint leadership (in person)
Day 1: 30th September 2022: Setting up a balint group
Day 2: 25th November 2022: Theory and stance of balint leadership
Day 3: 13th January 2023: Common dilemmas in running a group and thinking about groups using Balint theory
These training days will be facilitated by accredited Balint group leaders who are members of the CPsychI Psychotherapy faculty, together with Dr. Gearoid Fitzgerald an experienced group leader and psychoanalyst.
3. Attend monthly (x9) online 1-hour Balint leadership supervision group
Dates: 30th September 2022, 25th November 2022 and 13th January 2023

Fees: Consultants – €500, HSTs – €250
