Clinical and service development and / or research special interest
This clinical post is based within a community mental health service located in the Dublin South East Mental Health Service. The successful candidate will be based between the community base and day hospital/crisis team in Clonskeagh, South Dublin and St Vincent’s University Hospital. Within the general adult service, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within a newly set up and expanding day hospital and crisis intervention team. The aim will be to provide rapid community based assessments and interventions to prevent presentations at the emergency department and minimise inpatient admissions. The successful candidate will receive training from a consultant with expertise in this area and will have the opportunity to engage in service development and / or research to suit their needs. The successful candidate will have on-call duties as part of a new improved NCHD rota and will participate in the weekly academic training.
At least 18 months experience in psychiatry is required for this post. This post would ideally suit a trainee who has completed BST and would like to gain some further clinical and service development and / or research experience prior to commencing HST.
This is a 12 month post, however applicants applying for 6 months will be considered.
