Early intervention for psychosis services have developed in many countries worldwide including Ireland. The Dublin and East Treatment and Early Care Team (DETECT) is an Irish Early Intervention for Psychosis Service which is managed by St. John of God Community Services Limited (www.detect.ie). The multidisciplinary team provides specialist interventions for all those who are diagnosed with a psychotic illness. Additionally there is a programme of service evaluation and research underway.
The service is now inviting applications for the position of Registrar (Early Intervention for Psychosis). This is a one year fixed term contract.
The successful applicant’s role will primarily involve conducting assessments of referrals, teaching and contributing to the programme of service evaluation. Training in the standardised assessment protocol and instruments will be provided. Participation in both internal and external educational and training opportunities and undertaking scientific research will be supported whenever possible.
All applicants must be currently registered with the Irish Medical Council (IMC) and will have completed all parts of their Membership exams in psychiatry (MRCPsych or equivalent).
Department of Health and Children regulations apply to this post.
