This clinical post is based with the specialised Adult Eating Disorders Team. The successful candidate will be based between Elm Mount Unit/ St Vincent’s University Hospital, with three inpatient beds, and outpatient treatment. This post is part of an expanding service with a new community eating disorders team Hub premises in Churchtown opening in autumn 2022. This will offer a the candidate experience of working in an established team which is expanding and developing. Additionally this post will consist of one general adult mental health clinic session a week based in a newly, purpose built mental health clinic in South Dublin.
Within the eating disorder service, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a specialised eating disorder multidisciplinary team in providing care to the inpatient beds, outpatient treatment and a liaison eating disorder service to the general hospital. The successful candidate will receive training in eating disorders, and will have the opportunity to be involved in the development of the new community specialist service. There are also research opportunities. They will have on-call duties either as second on call to the Consultant, or first on call on the NCHD rota, depending on level of experience. They will participate in the weekly academic training.
Required
At least 18 months experience in psychiatry is required for this post. This post would ideally suit a trainee who has completed BST and would like to gain clinical experience in Eating Disorders, given the increase in Consultant posts with the launch of the National Clinical Programme for Eating Disorders. It will also provide experience in being involved in the development of a new service.
Duration
This is a 12 month post, however applicants applying for 6 months will be considered.
