Public Health (Alcohol) Bill delayed – What you can do
Following continual delays there is a strong possibility that the Public Health (Alcohol) Bill may return to the Seanad in the coming weeks, according to Alcohol Action Ireland.
Now that the Bill seems to back on the agenda the College of Psychiatrists of Ireland encourages our Members and the public to contact their local T.D.’s to support the Bill and its implementation.
Alcohol Action Ireland have redrafted a letter on their campaign page to reflect the long delay in the passage of the Public Health (Alcohol) Bill. You can email your TD directly from this page using the draft email provided.
The Public Health (Alcohol) Bill is legislation designed to tackle Ireland’s harmful relationship with alcohol. It aims to reduce the damage that alcohol causes to individuals, families and society by reducing our alcohol consumption, with a particular focus on protecting children and young people from alcohol harm.
