About the
College
- The College is a merger of three
organisations - the IPA(Irish Psychiatric Association),
The IPTC (Irish Psychiatric Training Committee) and the
ICPsych (Irish College of Psychiatrists). Each of these
three organisations(now disbanded) bring a wealth of
experience, expertise and passion to the College in its role
as informant, support and representative to psychiatrists in
all stages of their careers.
- In addition to this role, the College
aims to reflect the needs of the development of the mental health
services in Ireland, for the purpose of alleviating the suffering
of those with mental illness.
- The College has a Council as its
governing body, with representatives from College Faculties.
